Valentine’s Day Embers Brings an Eternal Flame of Love (2026)

from Dean_Miller on 04/16/2026 05:10 AM

It was a week before Dean and as much as he loved being a firefighter and helping people, he also loved his new wife and daughter, which is why he took the week before and the week of Valentine's Day off. He wanted all that time to spend with his girls. And when he got the two weeks off, though he had to use some vacation and sick days, which didn't bother him since he could always build them back up. Anyway, Dean knew he had to get his two beautiful girls out of the house so that he can get things planned and put together the first week for Prue and the second week, the week of Valentines, which was strictly for Laura and he had some great plans he wanted to do with each of his special girls during both weeks. Laura and Prue were already up when Dean's alarm went off, so he turned it off, rolled around for a few more minutes and then got up and went to the bathroom. Once he was done doing that, he threw a shirt on and went out to see what his special ladies were doing. So after coming out of his and Laura's room, he couldn't help but stop in the doorway for a little bit just watching Laura fix Prue a bowl of cereal and watching Prue get excited as she waited to eat it, which brought a huge smile to his face. Finally, after a few minutes of just watching his girls, he finally went over and gave Prue a kiss on top of the head just as Laura was sitting her bowl of cereal in front of her. She couldn't help but giggle and look up at Dean, which just melted his heart. Then he walked over to Laura and softly kissed her on the side of her head as he listened to her giggle just like Prue had done, which once again, melted his heart. Laura had asked him what he wanted for breakfast and Dean thought about it for a few minutes before speaking to her.

"Oh, I don't know," Dean said. "I think, if it not too much trouble," he told her as they were looking at each other deep into the eyes. "Pancakes and maybe some bacon and maybe some hashbrowns," he told her with a huge smile on his face. Laura then leaned up and softly placed a kiss on his lips as she told him that she would be happy to make him that for breakfast because she too was craving pancakes. Dean nodded happily and then went over to the coffee pot and poured him a fresh and hot cup of coffee while Laura started on the preparations for their breakfast. Once he had his coffee poured and he took a couple sips of his coffee and once his mouth was completely empty, he began to speak, still with a smile on his face, though he couldn't help but glance over at Prue as she was eating her cereal with her own smile on her face. "Anyway," Dean said as he turned back to Laura, who had just put a bunch of bacon slices into a frying pan and was starting to peel some potatoes once the bacon got going. "I was wondering if you had any special plans for today?" he asked her as he took another sip of his coffee, while thinking about how he was going to plan each and every day from Sunday to Sunday, for Prue, though he knew that he should at least tell Laura about his plans for Prue so she doesn't feel left out. Though he knew he could tell her while Prue was napping. Laura stopped what she was doing for a few minutes and just looked at Dean. Finally, she told him that she did have some shopping she wanted to do but she could do that another day. Of course, Dean had just taken a drink when she was talking and soon choked a little bit on his coffee, though he did manage to swallow it as Laura looked with a worried and yet puzzled look on her face. After clearing his throat so that he wouldn't choke again, Dean began to speak to her again. "Why don't you take Prue shopping after she takes her nap?" he asked her in a suggestion type voice. Dean looked over at Prue and then back at Laura and leaned in closer to her. "I'll explain later when she's napping," he said with a smile on his face and Laura nodded still not understanding but trusting Dean with whatever he was planning. Then he topped off his coffee, kissed Laura on the head and then headed to the living room to watch tv while Laura finished up their breakfast.

An Irish Blessing of Love with a Curse of the Emerald Fire (2026)

from Dean_Miller on 04/16/2026 01:17 AM

It was a few days before St Patrick's Day and the crew at Station 19 was getting ready for the up coming holiday, which as busy as they were happy to be, they were in a way dreading it as well. Most of the so-called accidents happened because people got extremely drunk and reckless. Anyway, Dean hadn't been back from his honeymoon long, but long enough to know that things were about to get busy. So, after kissing his girls goodbye for the next 12 hours, Dean went off to work with a huge smile on his face. As he walked in the station, he couldn't help but notice that there were a lot of green leprechaunish things hanging up. As he was heading to the locker room to put his things away, Dean couldn't help but chuckle as he was looking at everything on the walls, which he did have to admit that some of it was pretty cute and funny. Finally Dean reached the locker room and his locker, though he did just walk in on his friends and co-workers talking about who all was going to be busy once St Patrick rolled around. As Dean listened to Ben talk about how he and Miranda had a bet that there would be more accidents than fires on St Patrick's Day, Dean couldn't help but think about Laura and Prue and how he was happy that they were at home and safe, though he did hope that even if Laura did have to go out that she would take extra care and caution, especially with Prue in the car. Dean snapped out of it when Vic turned and asked Dean how his honeymoon went and if he was ready for the up coming St Patrick's Day Holiday that was just a few days away. Dean didn't say anything for a few minutes as he finished putting his things in his locker. Then he closed the door and was about to answer Vic when the fire alarm sounded and soon everybody quickly grabbed what they needed or finished putting on their shirts or whatever and then ran to the trucks to get ready to depart. Nobody knew exactly who was doing what, so they all just left the station, hoping that they wouldn't be gone too long in case walk-ins came in.

Anyway, as Station 19's fire trucks pulled out, Dean sat in the back with Vic and two others as they drove to the scene. Nobody said much as they were looking out the window and noted that there was already some people drinking and possibly drunk and it wasn't even 10 am yet. Anyway, Dean and the rest of the team had arrived at the scene of the fire, which was no surprise to anyone that it was a bar. As the team of Station 19 worked to put out the fire and check for anyone who maybe hurt or still inside, Andy started talking to the owner who to her that there was a huge fight over lord knows what between two drunk who was arguing about some dame name Laura Miller or some name like that and soon a fight broke out, in which one of the drunks had a gun and began to shoot up the place, thankfully nobody was hurt, but it did hit a few of the liquor bottles and before anyone knew it, the bar was on fire. Andy nodded and asked if there was still anyone inside, to which the owner said no and that he thought everybody got out, which thankfully was the truth. After putting out the fire and helped put away the equipment that they were using, Andy took Dean aside and began to tell him what the owner had told him about the two drunk men, who were now in handcuffs and being placed in two separate police cars, and she went on to tell Dean that they had been fighting over Dean's wife Laura like they were old boyfriends or family or something. Dean stood there for a long time. He knew that Laura had no idea where her real family was, but something was telling him deep down that these two drunks knew something and he had to find out what that was before he said anything to Laura about it. Andy could see that Dean was deep in thought about something and asked if he was okay, to which Dean just shook his head. He didn't say anything for a few minutes and then finally excused himself and went over to talk to one of the officers about who the two drunks were, and after Dean got their names, he went and got into the firetruck and waited for them to head back to Station 19. His mind though, was on Laura and how she was going to feel once he told her what he knew and was about to know.

Forever Begins with the Whisper of "I Do"

from Dean_Miller on 04/15/2026 09:25 AM

It was the day that Dean Miller had been waiting for all his life and yes, it was also the day his mother waited for as well, though he also knew she wasn't exactly thrilled about his choice of brides. But he didn't let his mother's views stop him from marrying the girl of his dreams, besides, his little girl, Pruitt, really loved Laura and that was all that really mattered to Dean. Dean was sleeping peacefully as his alarm started to go off, telling him that it was time to get up, though Dean wasn't ready to get up until he remembered what day it was and then a huge smile came across his face, even with his eyes still closed. Dean laid there for a little while longer until he just couldn't hold it anymore and had to get up and go to the bathroom. After going to the bathroom, Dean flushed the toilet and then quickly washed his hands. After drying his hands, he walked back into the room, turned the alarm on his phone off and looked at the time. He knew that he had several hours yet before he had to be at the church, so he decided to go make him some breakfast and watch a little Tv before he went to run some errands before getting into the shower and getting himself ready for his wedding. He was just lucky that his parents took Prue for the night so that they could get her ready while he got himself ready. And Laura, she went to stay with some friends overnight so that she could get up extra early to get her hair, nails and make-up professionally done. That just left Dean to be home alone, which to be honest, he kind of loved. Anyway, Dean took his phone and after putting on his pajama bottoms and headed to the kitchen, though Dean did stop in the living room for a few minutes to turn the TV on to find something to watch, which usually was the news.

So after turning the news on, Dean went into the kitchen, Dean made a pot of fresh coffee and as that was brewing, he got out a pan placed it on the stove. Then he went over to the fridge and pulled out the eggs, bacon and the butter for toast. He sat all of that on the island in the middle of the kitchen. Then he opened the bacon and began pull it apart and put about five or six pieces in the pan and turned it on. As he was wrapping the bacon up and putting it back in the fridge, he couldn't help but notice the lettuce and the sliced tomatoes and decided to make himself a BLT sandwich, so he reached over and put the butter and eggs back and grabbed the lettuce, the tub with the tomatoes and the mayo and sat them on the island where the eggs and butter used to be. After closing the door, and while the bacon was cooking, the coffee finished brewing and Dean poured himself a hot cup of coffee and turned his attention to the news, which was talking about something that was happening in town, but Dean didn't really know what because he wasn't paying too much attention to it. He took a sip of his freshly made coffee as he looked at the TV and kept a close eye on his bacon. But what he couldn't help was the fact that his mind was on Laura and Prue and what each of his girls was planning on wearing at the wedding, though he knew that Prue had a new pink dress, which not only goes with the colors of the wedding, but it was a new dress that he had boughten her just for the wedding. And as to what Laura was wearing, he knew that it was a white wedding dress, but he didn't know what style. She told him when she went to get the dress that she wanted to surprise him, which he always did like her surprises. Anyway, Dean finished fixing his sandwich and after putting it on a plate and cutting it in half, he took it and his coffee and went to sit down on the couch to watch what was left of the news before changing the channel.

The Night of the Christmas Party Fire (2025)

from Dean_Miller on 04/15/2026 06:47 AM

Dean and Laura have been married for few months now and it would be their first Christmas as husband and wife, along with Pruitt, which made them quiet the little family. Dean, Laura and Prue were at the mall, checking things out and pointing out things that they would love to get for Christmas. And of course, Prue was pointing out everything her little eyes could see, which made both Dean and Laura laugh. But as they were all walking through the mall, Dean came up with an idea, that normally he wouldn't do, because he didn't like to have a lot of people over at their house. But it was a display in one of the windows that made Dean want to do this. They stood there looking at the display when Dean began to speak to Laura. "Babe," he started to say. "Let's have a Christmas party," he said as he looked at the display and then turned to look at Laura, who was looking back at him with a surprise look. Dean couldn't help but chuckle at the look that she was giving him. He knew all too well what that look was for. Dean knew that she knew that he wasn't one for having a bunch of people over at their houseboat, which was true. He didn't like a bunch of people coming over and messing things up and be all in his business, but this year, he decided he wanted to do something different and have a party, to which he had a surprise for his two beloved girls. After he chuckled a bit, he then began to speak to her, hoping that what he had to say would help settle her down and wouldn't cause her to ask too many questions about his reasons for wanting a Christmas party this year.

"I know I know," he started to tell her. "I usually don't like a bunch of people over at the house at one time," he told her. "But with it being the holidays, I was thinking that maybe it would be good to do something with our family and friends," he said. "Well, more so our friends, since you don't have any family left and mine, really doesn't like all that much," he said. "Though my sister loves you," he adds trying to correct what he said. He knew when he brought up their families that he crossed a line because he could see the hurt in her eyes. Dean then wrapped his arms around her and softly kissed her neck. "I'm sorry baby," he whispered to Laura as he went on talking. "Say, why don't we take Prue to see Santa and then I'll treat my girls to a cup of hot chocolate?" he asked her as Prue turned to look up Dean and Laura with excitement in her eyes. And that's when Dean figured out that Prue loved the idea of going and seeing Santa and getting some hot chocolate with the possibility of a Christmas sugar cookie or two to compliment the hot chocolate. Dean looked down at Prue and smiled as he bent down and picked her up. As she wrapped her arms around his neck, she gave her father a kiss on the cheek. Then both Dean and Prue looked over at Laura with what she would consider the cutest puppy dog look ever invented, which they both know she also couldn't resist that look either. Finally, as they continued to look at her with that puppy dog look, Dean began to speak to her with a playful smile on his face. "Well, babe," he said happily. "The balls in your court. Shall we go see Mr. Clause and then partake in some Christmas spirit?" he asked, now being funny and yet serious as well. That's when he saw a smile come over Laura's face and he knew right then that she about to say yes to their new plans for the evening before going home.

Re: One Fire Brings a Lifetime of Love

Dean listened to everything that Miranda told him about Laura's condition. He was a little relieved that she was stable but worried that they were about to put her on a ventilator. After listening to everything, Miranda took Dean back to see Laura, which scared him a bit because he didn't know what shape she would be in and if she would be able to speak to him before they put her under in a medically induced coma. That was when he stuck his hand in his pocket and touched the ring box that had the special ring that he wanted to give to his beloved Laura, though he wasn't sure now if he should or if he should wait until she could actually wear it. Finally, they reached Laura's room and as he stood looking in at her while she was still awake, she lifted her left arm slightly and waved to him, which broke Dean's heart and brought tears to his eyes. Miranda gave him a gown and mask to put on before they took her to the burn unit. And as he was doing so, she told him that he only at ten minutes to be in there with her before they would come and take Laura away. Dean nodded as he finished putting on the gown and mask, he then walked into Laura's room while Miranda went to do her rounds, only stopping for a few minutes to look at Dean with a sad looking on her face and finally, she turned back away and went on to do her job and check on the other patients she had. Meanwhile, Dean went into Laura's room and after the door closed, he stood there for a few minutes just to look at what was left of the woman he loved and still loved, though he didn't know how to feel or what to say in that moment. But finally, after taking a deep breath and swallowing the lump that was in his throat, Dean walked over and pulled up a chair next to Laura's bed.

He gently took her hand into his while he looked deep into her eyes. And for the first time since they had been there, Laura gave him the sweetest and loveliest smile that she had inside of her. And for the first time, Dean wasn't afraid as he smiled back at her. And before he even started to say anything to her, he felt her giving his hand a little squeeze to let him know that she was and would always be fighting to stay with him. Dean lifted her hand softly and kissed it as he began to speak to her. "I know you are my love," Dean said happily, though he was fighting back tears and actually winning the fight. "Right now, the only thing I want you to do is to get better," he told her. "I don't want you to lay in here worrying about me and Prue, because we will be fine," he told her as he put on his best smile on. Then he softly kissed her hand once more and then gently pressed it against his forehead as he closed his eyes for a few minutes to let everything sink in. Finally, Dean let out another sigh as he began to speak to her again. "I know that Prue and I will miss you, but I promise you, we will be okay," Dean finally told her as he looked deep into her eyes. He knew she wanted to say something, but Dean wouldn't let her. In fact, Dean went on speaking before Laura could even open his mouth. "Shh, don't try to talk right now," Dean said. "You need to save your strength so that you can get better," he said as he heard Miranda knocking on the window and then pointing to her watch. Dean nodded and got up from the chair he was sitting in. He kissed Laura's hand and then her forehead as he finished up his thought. "Always remember that Prue and I love you very much," he said almost in a whispered voice as they were looking at each other in the eyes. "And we always will. Now you rest and get better, because I have a surprise for you," he said with a smile as he watched Laura smile back. The Dean kissed her forehead once more. And after he was finished, he turned to leave, stopping only for a few minutes to look at Laura and quickly left.

Re: The Miller Christmas Party Gone Hot

from Dean_Miller on 02/09/2026 08:00 AM

"Yes, I'm sure," he told her. "I want this Christmas to be really special for not only Pru, but for you too," Dean said, knowing she had no clue as to what Dean was up too. Dean knew his family could be a bit much, even for Laura, but he wasn't going to leave her alone with them. But he also knew that, even though Laura says she didn't know if she had the strength to handle his mom and dad, she was stronger than she gave herself credit for. As they both stood close together, Dean still holding Pru, he began to speak to Laura soft and gentle. "I know they give you a really hard time, but I promise you right here and now that I won't let them ruin your Christmas," he told her as he looked deep into here eyes and had a huge smile on his face. "Besides, I think Santa might have something extra special planned for you and for Pru," he said still smiling. Laura couldn't help but blush and that was when Dean knew that he had gotten through to her. After telling him that she was fine if his family and friends coming over for a Christmas party, the smile on Dean's face grew bigger.

"I knew you would come around," Dean said as he leaned in and softly kissed Laura on top of the head. Then he turned and kissed Pru on the cheek, which she giggled as they began to walk towards Santa's Village. As they were walking, Dean listened to all of Laura's suggestions and he couldn't help but smile. "I think that would be a wonderful idea," he said happily as they finally reached Santa's Village. They knew that the line to see Santa was going to be long, but they had no idea that it was going to be almost a 3-hour wait to see Santa, with breaks in-between. Dean looked at Laura with an annoying look to his face, and she couldn't help but giggle a little bit as they got in line. Both Dean and Laura knew how badly she wanted to see Santa, so they sacrificed their time just for her. Then Dean turned and looked at Laura and began to reply to what she had suggested earlier. "I love that idea, though I don't know if we will make it in time to get hot chocolate and sugar cookies since we have to stand here for so long," Dean said, hoping Laura wasn't too disappointed.

Dean walked back and forth into the waiting room as Laura was being checked out. The resto of the group was trying to get him to calm down and sit down, but Dean just shook his head and kept pacing back and forth. But it was Vic who got him to calm down a bit so that they could at least have a cup of hot coffee and maybe a snack, not so much for him, but for her because she was starving. Dean sighed and agreed to at least a cup of coffee, though he demanded the rest to pay close attention to what's happening with Laura and of course then nodded and said they would. Meanwhile, Laura laid there on the stretcher wanting to scream in pain, but nothing would come out of her mouth. She could feel something down her throat that shouldn't be there. Her sight was still blurry, and she was not having trouble making people out. She could hear people shouting and finally, she gave in and closed her eyes, but not before letting her mind wonder to Dean and how worried he must be. Dean and Vic went to the coffee shop and got two cups of coffee and a Danish for Vic.

As they were walking back to the waiting room, with their coffees and Danish, Dean stayed quiet. It was almost like he was deep in thought about something, so Vic broke the silence that grew between them by talking about anything she could think of. But what came to her mind was two things and she knew that neither one would help Dean's mood, so she just stayed silent. Once they both came back to the waiting room, he looked at the rest of the group to see if there was any news. That was when Ben stood up and said that Laura was still in the trauma room and nothing new has come about yet. Dean frowned and went back to pacing with his coffee in his hand, though he had only taken one sip since he got it. It was then that Dean slipped in hand in his pocket and felt the small ring box and his heart sank as he let out a sad sigh. That was when Miranda came out, to which Dean quickly turned around and walked over to her and stood in front of Miranda and waited for her to tell him how Laura was doing.

Once Laura was out, Station 19's crew began to back out slowly while still fighting the fire. Vic and Andy carefully took Laura over to Ben and Dean, to which Dean had a horrified look on his face. Him and Ben had got the others ready for transport and as Ben began to work on Laura, Dean couldn't help but stand there frozen. He reached over and leaned down and softly kissed Laura's forehead softly as she lay there unconscious. Then before he began to work on Laura's co-worker, Dean began to speak to her soft and low so that only she could hear him. "Please be okay, baby, please," he whispered to him. "I have plans for you and me and Prue," he added as a tear fell from one of his eyes as he stroked her hair back. Then he went on whispering to her. "You can't leave us, especially little Prue. She loves you and you know everything she's been through with her real mother," Dean added and then went on speaking. "She doesn't need you leaving her too and neither do I," he finished up just as Ben told him to go work on the other person.

Dean nodded and then kissed Laura's forehead one more time. Then Dean turned and looked at Ben and told him to keep her alive. Ben nodded and said he would do his best. Just as Ben began to work on Laura, Dean went over and began to work on Laura's co-worker. It didn't take long for Dean to get Laura's co-worker awake and breathing and had her on a stretcher heading towards the ambulance. Once Dean saw that the girl was safely in the ambulance and on her way to the hospital, Dean finally went over to Ben, who was still working on Laura. Vic came over to pull Dean back, who was now starting to cough hard. As Laura was starting to cough hard, she was bringing up soot that she got down in her throat, which didn't bother Dean much. What Dean was, was grateful to Ben for bringing back the love of his life. Vic let him go and soon Dean was over and thanked Ben for saving Laura before he went over to Laura. Dean gently took Laura by the hand and brushed some hair from her face as they looked deep into each other's eyes.

Dean soon began to talk to her as he gently kissed her hand. "It's okay baby," he said as he wiped away a tear from her face. "You're going to the best hospital in the world, and you will be okay," he told her with a tear falling down his face and a crazy smile on her face. He knew he was crying but he never had felt more relieved than he did there as he was walking Laura to the hospital. "I know you're scared," Dean said as they stood there in front of the ambulance, getting ready to put Laura inside. "But you are going to Greys Memorial, and I know they will take good care of you," he added and then leaned up and softly kissed her forehead. Then he continued speaking, just as Travis told him that they needed to go. "I won't be far behind you, my love," he said as he kissed her one more time. Then Travis, along with Dean, helped put Laura into the ambulance and then closed the doors. Once the ambulance took off for Greys Memorial, Dean rushed back to his car, got in and was soon on his way to the hospital to be with Laura.

Dean watched in horror, knowing that as much as he wanted to help, nobody was going to let him. The only thing Dean could do was walk briskly back and forth, pacing and praying that everyone that was still inside, including his beloved Laura. As Dean kept pacing liking he was, Vic, his best friend came over to give him an update. And when she said that they were finally getting the flames under control to the point that they were almost ready to go in and get Laura and the others out. Knowing that, helped Dean settle down a bit, but he was still  very much worried about Laura, which he knew would never go away as long as she was still inside.

As Dean looked around to see what everyone was doing, he couldn't help but notice Andy and Ben talking, so he went over to see if there was something he could do that would take his mind off of what was going on. At first Andy told him to just stay out of the way, and it was Ben that said he could assist him in what everybody called the hospital on wheels, which everyrone knew it was just upgraded ambulance painted black. At first Andy wasn't so sure Dean working would be a good idea, but she quickly changed her mind when Ben said it would get him out of the way, plus it would keep his mind busy while everyone else did their jobs to save the people who was still inside.
